| Today (Tuesday November 9) the Government outlined the
future of policing by publishing its agenda to build a better police service.
The police reform policy paper, called Building Communities, Beating
Crime – A better police service for the 21st Century, represents
the next stage in a programme of reform which has produced real results,
including record numbers of police officers.
Alongside the main paper, the Home Office today published two leaflets,
setting out ten clear commitments on how the service will be improved
and what changes will be implemented to achieve this. One leaflet is aimed
at the public and the other at the police.
