Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Committee

The formal remit of the Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Committee is to examine the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, including further education, higher education, skills and the Government Office for Science which has responsibility for science across all Government departments.

The Committee was established in session 2007-08 with a membership of fourteen Members of Parliament. The House of Commons appointed Members to the Committee on 8 November 2007.  On 11 March 2008 the Committee was renamed the Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills Committee.

The Children, Schools and Families Committee scrutinises the work of the Department for Children, Schools and Families, including childcare, schools, colleges and curricula. All material from the former Science and Technology Committee can be found on its website.
