On 28 June 2005, one of the largest ever Fleet Reviews was held to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Lord Nelson.

The International Fleet Review in the Solent marked the start of a special programme of events in Portsmouth and the Solent between 28 June and 3 July 2005.

Over 170 ships from 35 countries took part in the 43rd International Fleet Review.  Her Majesty The Queen, sailing aboard HMS Endurance, conducted the Review, which involved a mixture of military, merchant and historic tall ships as well as helicopter and aircraft flypasts.

The Review is the biggest ever of its kind.
