Following
his statement at 0900
on 24 November, Brigadier Brunt has confirmed that:
- Armed
Forces personnel continue to respond well to the challenge
of providing emergency fire cover;
- the
core capabilities continue to be provided by the BART and
REST specialist rescue teams and the fleet of Green Goddesses,
with a welcome additional capability provided by the small
number of Red Goddesses that have been made available;
- the
Armed Forces are satisfied with the equipment provided by
the Government which enables the required emergency cover
to be maintained;
- and,
should a need for additional capabilities be identified,
proper consideration will of course be given to how best
these might be provided.
