His Royal Highness The Duke of York has been talking with World War Two veterans during a visit to the Living Museum in St James’s Park.

He toured a number of the exhibits, stopping to speak with visitors, including a party of schoolchildren who were also enjoying a visit to the museum.

A former Royal Navy helicopter pilot, The Duke of York saw active service during the Falklands War in 1982, where he served on HMS Invincible.  After more than twenty years service he left the Navy in 2001.

The Living Museum runs all throughout the week, with a series of exhibitions, displays and re-enactments to capture the essence of wartime life from a British perspective.  From a Spitfire scramble re-enactment to a Land Army recreation, many aspects of wartime life are represented.  Ideal for all ages, the museum is supported by Service museums, WWII museums and the Imperial War Museum.
