GCSE qualification and subject criteria

Last updated on: 17/07/2009

Following a review of GCSEs, QCA developed draft qualification and subject criteria in spring 2007 in collaboration with teachers, awarding bodies, subject associations, higher education organisations and other interested parties. From this page you can download the new subject criteria and information on controlled assessments.

These documents were published by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The regulatory function of QCA is now the responsibility of the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications and monitors national curriculum assessments in England.
