2008 e-learner survey

08 September 2008

This survey aims to find out how young people, aged 14-19, use ICT and how they feel it could be used in the future. Its part of a piece of work designed to improve our understanding about the advantages that integrating ICT into qualifications can bring.

Who is Ofqual?

Ofqual's responsibilities are wide ranging – you can read more about us, or watch a short video, on this website. One of our central roles is to work with exam boards, schools and government to make sure the courses that young people study (like GCSEs, NVQs, the Diploma and A levels) are relevant, and that they are delivered in a way that students can relate to.

What is this project?

In the future ICT will be used more in exams and tests. That's why we are looking for input from young people. If you're aged 14-19 your responses will improve our understanding, helping us to develop the qualifications system so that it can become more responsive to, and in tune with, your needs and expectations.

The survey forms part of a wider project which will help us prepare for the use of technology in qualifications, assessments and learning to become widespread.

Completing the survey

The survey is open to anyone aged 14-19, taught in England. There are 14 questions and it should take about 3-5 minutes to complete. All answers will be confidential.

The survey runs until the end of November and results will be published on our website at the end of the year.
