Tim Balcon

Tim began his career in1981 as an Apprentice Service Engineer with British Gas in South Yorkshire. After completing his Apprenticeship, Tim moved to Leicester to become a Training Instructor before progressing to Training Advisor at British Gas Services and then to National Project Manager.
After leaving British Gas Services in 1999, Tim went on to manage an Inward Investment Project in north Nottingham, looking at re-skilling the workforce made redundant from the mining and textile trades. The Project was also aimed at attracting businesses into the area, through equipping the regions workforce with a modern day skills set.
Tim joined GINTO (Gas Industry National Training Organisation) as Chief Executive Officer in 2001 and then as Chief Executive at GWINTO (Gas and Water Industry National Training Organisation). In 2003 Tim went through a rigorous UK wide recruitment process to become Chief Executive of Energy & Utility Skills.
As Chief Executive, Tim has a great passion and work ethic in terms of helping to ensure that individuals realise their own potential.
