Euro assessment studies published
The Government has published its background studies that support the assessment of the five economic tests on whether the UK is ready to join the single European currency.
The five economic tests are:
- sustainable convergence between Britain and the economies of the single currency;
- whether there is sufficient flexibility to cope with economic change;
- the effect on investment;
- the impact on the financial services industry;
- whether it is good for employment.
The studies have been undertaken and commissioned by the Treasury. Read the studies in full on the HM Treasury website.
