GeoPlace On 3 December 2010, Eric Pickles MP, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, announced the formation of a single national address gazetteer. The new national address gazetteer will provide one definitive source of accurate publicly-owned spatial address data for the whole of the public sector. 2011 National Gazetteers Exemplar Awards Everything Happens Somewhere conference and exhibition The 2011 Exemplar Awards programme has now been launched. This contract is managed by the Local Government Information House (LGIH) on behalf of LLPG gazetteer maintaining local authorities. NLPG for the PSMA community The Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA), led by DCLG, helps to join up government through the sharing of location data between all its members; local government, emergency services, central government and health. All these organisations will be able to use the data, including the NLPG, on the same licensing terms, providing a licensing framework that enables more collaborative working with all delivery partners and enabling greater data sharing. NLPG for the commercial sector Everything happens somewhere. The onward uses of the NLPG are huge, from wider public sector use to commercial applications in insurance, the utilities, customer profiling, logistics, satellite navigation and many more.
