03 Sep. - Antonio Maria Costa, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, visited NATO HQ on 3 September. He met with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and briefed the North Atlantic Council on the UNODC’s Afghanistan Opium Survey 2008.
05 Sep. - At approximately 11:16 this morning an IED was detonated in the vicinity of Musa Qaleh District in Helmand province. As a result of the explosion three civilians were injured including one child.
03 Sep. - In the early morning hours of September 2, Afghan National Security Forces and the International Security Assistance Force successfully delivered a new turbine to Kajaki Dam in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
06 Aug. - The Afghan National Army is conducting operations in Helmand province together with ISAF forces, setting the security conditions for the implementation of reconstruction projects in the area.
