Gunpowder 400: The people and the plot

Saturday 5 November 2005, 12:00-14:00

Everyone has heard of Guy Fawkes, but who were the other people behind the plot? Who were the conspirators, what brought them together and what did they hope to achieve? Hear two experts present their views and debate the subject.

Speakers: Mark Nicholls, fellow of St John's College Cambridge and author of 'Investigating the Gunpowder Plot', James Travers, curatorial officer for the Historic Manuscripts Commision at The National Archives and author of the forthcoming book 'Gunpowder The Players behind the Plot'.

Guy Fawkes signed 2 confessions - one after torture and another 8 days later.
