Pocket Watch from the posessions of Mary Smith (C114/190/227)
Pocket Watch from the posessions of Mary Smith (C114/190/227)

This session is ideal for GCSE or A level students studying History, Humanities, Social Sciences or Science.

Students examine the real cultural heritage questions relating to four different items.

  • Why do we preserve objects?
  • What should we keep?
  • What are the financial and environmental costs of preservation?

Through lively presentations and debate, students will gain an understanding of the issues which cultural institutions face every day.  Expert speakers will provide students with evidence for their arguments, before they decide which of the four artefacts to save.
