Consulting users on the changes to the reading rooms
Before making changes to the facilities at The National Archives, we asked our users what they needed. The changes were completed in 2008. This page describes the consultation process.
We held initial open meetings at the Family Records Centre and The National Archives at Kew in late June 2006.
We then held a second round of meetings at the Family Records Centre and Kew in September 2006 to further explore what our visitors want from the new combined service at Kew. This was followed in January 2007 by a third round of meetings at which we presented the results of these consultations and outline proposals for the relocation, inviting feedback.

Baroness Ashton's workshop
