The Great British Art Debate – Website now LIVE!

Great British Art Debate LogoIs British art a British fantasy? Does the art of the past say anything about the world of today? Should the British public have a say in what goes into museums? These are among the many questions at the heart of The Great British Art Debate, a four-year programme intended to stimulate debate about the impact of British art on the public’s perception of Britishness through exhibitions, events and learning activity. A Constable of the Suffolk countryside, a Richard Billingham of the Black Country, a John Martin landscape: how do these and the thousands of other works from our national collections impact on the public’s perception of Britishness? Join in the debate at the new GBAD website
