Welcome to the UK Ministry of Defence International Visits Control Office (IVCO).
IVCO is divided into 2 sections Outward Visits and Inward Visits.
The role of IVCO in relation to British Industry is:-
- To assist British contractors in obtaining security clearances for visits overseas, which will allow them access to the Protectively Marked (classified) information of another country or to enter a "restricted area" within that country.
- To establish and maintain records of the staff of British companies to meet requests for security assurances from foreign governments or International Defence Organisations.
- To act as a focal point to ascertain the permitted level of access to UK Protectively Marked material, (Classified) by overseas visitors to UK industry.
- To simplify the procedures for issuing Security Assurances and for transmitting them to the appropriate authorities.
The information contained on the following pages provide guidance to staff of UK contractors, and foreign nationals wishing to visit the UK. Further information can be obtained, in the first instance from your security controller, for UK industry, or your NSA, for foreign nationals. IVCO will always be available to answer any specific questions you may have about the visits process. E-mail IVCO@DPA.MoD.UK.
We hope you find these pages of some use to you when you are making a visit.
