GEMS - The MOD Staff Suggestion Scheme

GEMS is the Defence-wide staff suggestion scheme that encourages people working anywhere in any job in Defence to submit innovative ideas for doing things better. The ideas can address any issue – good ideas for improving the clerical support to a unit are just as appropriate as a design for a better mousetrap. Ideas receive cash rewards depending on their use and value to defence.

Last year over 2,500 suggestions were made. Over half of these received awards totalling £350,000 and saved the MOD £13M. . . . So start thinking and GOOD LUCK

But, if you’ve already got a good idea and want to submit it, then follow this simple format…

First – read the GEMS guide telling you about the award scheme (see above)

Second – you need to click onto the Suggestion Form (see above)

And finally you’ll need to know who to send it to, by looking up the nearest LAG on our contact list.
