The Defence Geographic and Imagery Intelligence Agency is the MOD's primary organisation for the provision of Geographic Information and Imagery Intelligence (IMINT). It was formed by the amalgamation of Military Survey and Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre (JARIC) in April 2000. It is owned by Director General Intelligence Collection (DGIC), under the overall control of Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI).

DGIA comprises:

The Headquarters, based at Feltham, Middlesex - The Chief Executive, Air Commodore Martin Hallam, is supported by a headquarters which manages the strategic aspects of the Agency's work and ensures that its strategies are turned into policy, plans and action.

JARIC, RAF Brampton, Huntingdon - provision of IMINT.

Defence Geographic Centre (DGC), Feltham, Middlesex - provision of geographic information.

Geographic Engineer Group (GEG), Hermitage, Newbury, Berkshire - deployable geographic support elements.

STAFF

DGIA has a staff of approximately 1450, made up of MOD civilians and personnel from all three Services.
