On 28 November 2000, the MOD launched the We Were There Exhibition to honour the invaluble contribution made by the ethnic minorities to the Armed Forces for more than 200 years.

The Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Mr John Spellar and the Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality, Mr Gurbux Singh launched the photographic exhibition.
