Ministry of Defence buys Bank of Ireland North Bristol site

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has acquired the Bank of Ireland site adjacent to its offices at Abbey Wood in Filton, North Bristol as part of its plans to improve the effectiveness of support to the UK Fighting Forces.

Through bringing together staff from both the Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO) and the Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) in the North Bristol area, MoD is seeking to improve how equipment is bought and supported, resulting in more reliable equipment being supplied to the Armed Forces at better value for money for taxpayers.

The site is capable of supporting 350 desks with the potential to develop up to 1150 more.  Now that MoD has acquired the site it will begin detailed work on how to make best use of the facilities prior to occupancy next year, subject to Ministerial final approval.
