The team consists of 92 Military and Civilian staff, (technical, financial, commercial and administrative), who provide support to Service users of land-launched air defence and anti-tank guided weapons systems. We are based at Andover and Telford.
We are principally concerned with ensuring that the weapons systems and their missiles are available to the users with the most cost effective support needed to sustain their military capability in peace, training and in war. We do this by managing the stock, purchasing missiles and spares, repairing the equipment, and modifying and improving it where necessary, maintaining user handbooks and ensuring it is safe to operate. We work with industry to provide this support, and much of our work involves agreeing with the user what they need, setting up contracts to cover these needs, and managing the cost, timeliness and quality of work done by our contractors and workshops.
