H&S Guidance for Contractors at HMNB Devonport

The contents of this guide are intended to highlight some of the main hazards which contractors are likely to encounter when working in the naval base and aboard ship. In order to comply with The Health & Safety At Work etc. Act 1974, it is essential that adequate preventative measures are in place to eliminate or reduce the risks from these hazards to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).

This document applies to and must be brought to the attention of all contractors undertaking work in HM Naval Base Devonport. Contractors working within areas controlled by DML must also comply with DML requirements.
