The Operations Directorate places itself to the fore of new initiatives designed to improve communication services to its customers.
The Operations Directorate is accountable for assuring the delivery of all DCSA outputs, providing secure information and communication services to the operational commander in the field and for delivering and monitoring DCSA Key Targets.
Key priorities are:
- Ensure the availability of agreed services in support of current operations.
- Plan, deliver and assure agreed services to future operations.
- Deliver in-year benefits and improvements in operational effectiveness arising from the DCSA Change Programme.
- Establish and embed the Agency Lead Point of Contact (ALPOC) at all major customer locations and the Agency Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for user issues.
- Continue to lead on the development of TLB customer supplier agreements (CSAs), Agency Risk Management and Agency Business Continuity.
- Delivering and setting to work effective end-to-end communications systems that support commanders in the field.
Assistant Director Operations (AD Ops)
Assistant Director Operations, on behalf of the DCSA Operations Director, manages and assures the delivery of End-to-End information services and products to its customers in the UK, overseas bases, and whilst deployed worldwide on exercises and operations. The branch works closely with Agency Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and their service providers, many of whom are collocated at Corsham in the Global Operations and Security Control Centre (GOSCC). The branch also works with the IPTs to resolve longer-term product and service assurance issues. They also undertake the performance management and reporting of Agency outputs and key targets. The aim of the Defence Information Operations (DIO) element of the branch is to embed computer network defence (CND) as part of the assurance of end-to-end services and reduce the risk of cyber attack to defence CIS.
Assistant Director Engineering Operations (AD Eng Ops)
Assistant Director Engineering Operations has responsibility to deliver and set to work effective end-to-end communications systems that support commanders in the field. AD Eng Ops is a key enabler of DCSA support to deployed operations and a wide range of customers within the defence intelligence community. The Deployed Network Solutions (DNS) Branch provides the programme and project management function for out-of-area (OOA) tasks. The Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Branch provides system and installation design for tasks which are implemented both within the UK and overseas. The Operations Support Branch (OSB) provides task management, including progression and customer satisfaction, and also comprises an Installation Support Team (IST) providing a communications installation engineering capability for OOA and defence intelligence customers. The Business Support Team provides facilities management, business management and manages continuous improvement.
Assistant Director Operational Planning (AD Ops Plans)
Assistant Director Operational Planning manages the principal interface with the DCSA's more deployable and operational customers. The primary roles are to: help plan the DCSA's contributions to future expeditionary CIS, identify capability shortfalls in contingent CIS planning, negotiate agreement on customer supplier agreements, and help to resolve issues and handle concerns when normal processes have failed. These roles are fulfilled and enhanced at a local level across defence through a developing network of local and regional customer managers.
Assistant Director Customer Management (Support) (AD CM Spt)
Assistant Director Customer Management (Support) manages the principal interface with the DCSA's top level MoD and industry customers. The primary roles are to: work closely with its customers to understand their business needs, identify capability gaps and service requirements, and help to resolve issues and handle concerns when normal processes have failed. These roles are fulfilled and enhanced at a local level across defence through a developing network of local and regional customer managers. Additional roles include management and negotiation of DCSA's customer supplier agreements and customer-related communications, the Corporate Customer Review Programme, and ownership of DCSA's customer management processes.
Assistant Director Operations Support (AD Ops Spt)
The Assistant Director Operations Support branch provide business support functions for the Ops Directorate and fulfil a coordinating and staffing role for issues that affect all functional areas of the D Ops organisation. The branch comprises the combined Business Continuity/Finance and Corporate Affairs teams, as well as the team responsible for the Organisation and System Support work-strand of the DCSA Change Programme. Additionally the branch carries a number of pan-Agency responsibilities which includes oversight of the Risk Management process, oversight and analysis of the Performance Management reporting process and development and monitoring of the Agency's Business Continuity arrangements.
