Welcome to Little Teddies Crèche. The Little Teddies Crèche aims to help children’s development in stimulating and supportive surroundings. In particular it gives the children the opportunity to socialise and develop a wide range of skills to gain confidence in playing and learning with other children.
How It Is Organised
The Crèche is open from 0815 hrs to 12.00 hrs Monday to Friday . The door is locked until 0815 hrs, as we are not covered by our insurance to take children before opening time equally we urge you to collect your child on time.
The children are divided into 4 groups depending on their age. The Crèche has 48 places a day and is registered with SSAFA and subject to regular inspection.
Settling In
Parents are encouraged to stay with their child at Crèche until they are both happy about the separation. The parents should be aware that they would be contacted immediately if their child became distressed or unwell when they have gone.
Staff
The staff in Crèche have a wide range of qualifications, including NNEB, DPP, IPP SPECIAL NEEDS, C&G IN SESSIONAL CRÈCHE WORK, FIRST AID, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES AND CHILD PROTECTION. Many of the staff are also working towards their NVQ 2 in childcare or are training to be assessors for the NVQ. Staff are constantly updating and adding to their qualifications.
Illness
If your child is unwell please keep them at home until they are fully fit. If your child is taken ill at Crèche or has an accident they will be seen by a qualified first aider, and you will be notified if necessary. Please ensure we have at least one emergency contact number and are made aware of any medical needs. If there is an incident/accident at Crèche you will be asked to sign the accident book
Nappies and Potty Training
If your child is in nappies please send in at least two nappies for the morning. The Crèche does have a small amount of nappies if one is used you will be asked to replace it or charged CY £1.00. We will continue to potty train your child in Crèche however please ensure we have sufficient changes of clothes, we do have spare clothes in Crèche but find children do tend to be more comfortable wearing their own clothes.
Snacks
During the morning the Crèche provides a snack for children. The snack varies from day to day but include fruit, vegetables, cheese, biscuits and crackers. The children are encouraged to try new foods. Children are also provided with a drink, your child can either use their own cups or use the Crèche cups, all cups are sterilised.
Going Home
The Crèche must be informed beforehand if anyone apart from the child’s main carers are picking up at home time. If we have not been previously informed, then the child will not be able to leave until we have contacted the parents. Children will not be able to leave with anyone under the age of 16.
