What does the Industrial Security Team do?

Industrial Security duties are:

  • To assist UK Companies in obtaining List X status, when contractually required to hold material classified Confidential or above

  • To assist UK Companies in verifying the security status of foreign companies and citizens, through liaison with National Security Authorities

  • Responsibility for approving the Hand Carriage of protectively marked material being taken overseas, by casual courier and the issue of related certificates

  • Responsibility for approving Transportation plans relating to the movement of bulky, protectively marked assets traveling within the UK and overseas

  • The sponsorship of personnel clearances for companies undergoing the List X process and for UK citizens contracted to NATO

  • Responsibility for approving the placing of classified International contracts and or collaboration
