Tim Flesher

Tim Flesher

Tim Flesher joined the Home Office in 1974. Subsequently he was Private Secretary to the Prime Minister (Parliamentary Affairs) between 1982 and 1986 where he was principally responsible for briefing the Prime Minister for Questions and debates in the House of Commons. From 1986-1992 he held a number of division posts in the Home Office, where he was responsible successfully for immigration and asylum casework, personnel and the management of the Probation Service. In 1992 he became Director of Administration for OFSTED where he was responsible for establishing the new school inspector system. In 1994 he became Deputy Director General (Operations) for the Immigration and Nationality Department, carrying responsibility for operation of the immigration control. In 1998, he transferred to the Inland Revenue, where he was Director General for Corporate Services and Deputy Chairman.

As the Deputy Chief of Defence Logistics Tim is responsible for ensuring that the DLO delivers its agreed output to its front line customers within financial and headcount targets. Tim also has lead responsibility for the DLO Restructuring and in promoting the delivery of through-life management.

Tim, who is 56, was educated at Oxford University. He is married with two daughters and lives in Surrey. His recreational interests include psephology, cooking and American football.
