Military concepts propose how we should operate in the future and what capabilities we will need to be successful.

DCDC has developed the UK Joint High Level Operational Concept to provide the high-level framework for this thinking within which more detailed Joint and single-Service concepts are to be developed.


The DCDC is also custodian for the Defence Capability Framework, which maintains a common language to describe the things we require our Armed Forces to do. 

Aditionally we undertake an assessment of the future international security environment to identify the future challenges and opportunities facing our Armed Forces.
