Joint Service Adventurous Training Scheme - Army Sponsored Activities Distributed Training (DT) Directive

Since its introduction in 2002 the Joint Service Adventurous Training (JSAT) scheme Army sponsored Distributed Training (DT) has proved to be a highly successful and hugely popular facet of Adventurous Training (AT) activity. DT underpins the growth of future leaders/instructors within the JSAT scheme. It is therefore essential that the AT Desk Officers ensure that all Level 2 and 3 authorised expeditions, where practicable, conduct DT as an integral part of the exercise/expedition.

The Aim of this directive is to ensure all personnel are fully cognisant with the implementation of the JSAT DT process and supersedes Reference A.

Adventurous Training Group (Germany) Equipment for Training

All units are entitled to hold material to achieve their primary roles in accordance with establishments, equipment tables and other relevant scalings. However, there are occasions when, for short periods, units will require the use of items to which they are not usually entitled in order to complete authorised military training. Such items may be made available from LAND loan pools which are maintained in the UK and in Germany.

The loan pools, which include clothing, general stores, weapons and other equipments, are managed by HQ LAND and operated by the Defence Storage and Distribution Agency (DSDA). DSDA Ops-Controlled Stocks is responsible for accounting (issue transactions), hastening, provisioning and maintenance of pool holdings for the loan pools. DSDA is responsible for the receipt, storage, maintenance of stocks and item issues for loan pools held in the UK and in Germany.

Applications for loan pool stores held at Dulmen are to be submitted to the RQMS at ATG(G), this application is to accompany the JSATFA. However demands may still be made upto 60 days prior to their requirement. Any applications recieved inside the 60 day rule will be rejected.
