The Olympic Stadium design uses an innovative 'bowl' for the track and permanent lower tiers of seating. This bowl and the whole stadium site are currently being dug at a rate of over 50,000 cubic metres a week.
Work is on schedule - in fact, construction of the stadium is likely to start two to three months early.
Robert the Engine temporarily moved
: Robert the Engine, the 80-year-old-locomotive outside Stratford Regional Station, will be moved on Sunday so that the next phase of work to upgrade the station can begin.
