    The Olympic Stadium bowl

    The Olympic Stadium design uses an innovative 'bowl' for the track and permanent lower tiers of seating. This bowl and the whole stadium site are currently being dug at a rate of over 50,000 cubic metres a week.  

    Work is on schedule - in fact, construction of the stadium is likely to start two to three months early.
