Review of warrants withdrawn at Leeds Magistrates' Court

Information released in response to a freedom of information request for details of a review of warrants withdrawn at Leeds Magistrates' Court.

A joint Criminal Justice Inspectorate report highlighted a number of cases where warrants for arrest were withdrawn under a local procedure at Leeds Magistrates' Court. These were reviewed and cases were taken back to court in June 2008. Ten new warrants for arrest were issued and the police will now seek to execute them. Defendants will be bailed to appear in court on 11 August 2008.
