Information released in response to a freedom of information request on the way in which Indeterminate Sentence Prisoners (ISP) are progressed through the custodial estate needs urgent change, fuelled by the increasing use of the Indeterminate sentence of imprisonment for Public Protection (IPP), and recent judicial review cases which challenge the management of IPPs.
