United Kingdom Supreme Court documents

In July 2003 the department (then the Department for Constitutional Affairs) carried out a public consultation to gather views on the form and responsibilities of the proposed UK Supreme Court.

Many of those we consulted from the judiciary, legal professions and the public provided feedback during this process.

In terms of procedures, the way the Supreme Court operates will remain largely unchanged. Moving locations has allowed the opportunity to improve processes.


Rules and Practice Directions

The Supreme Court will have its own Rules and Practice Directions.

Fees

The Supreme Court, as well as being the final court of appeal, plays an important role in the furtherance and development of UK law.
