Procurement at the Ministry of Justice

Most procurement at the Ministry of Justice involves a formal competitive tendering process and follows European Union (EU) procurement regulations and directives that differ depending on the value of the contract.

Contracts for less than the EU limit are often advertised in national or regional newspapers or in trade journals.

Almost all contracts for more than the EU limit must be published in the daily supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU).

Further information

The supplement to the OJEU is published electronically by the European Commission and is available by subscription from UK agents such as the Office of Public Sector Information

We regularly place our procurement opportunities on Supply2.gov.uk which lists opportunities across the public sector.

Contract announcement information is also carried in publications such as Contrax weekly and Government opportunities, available by subscription from Business Information Publications

Tendering for government contracts

The Office of Government Commerce and the Department for Business Innovation & Skills offer guidance and set out the opportunities and benefits within the public sector including offering advice on how to bid for government contracts.
