EU funding

European map and flag

We are responsible for helping non-profit organisations – such as NGOs, academics, legal practitioners and other civil society groups – apply for EU funding under its fundamental rights and justice programme.

The programme is a fund which aims to ‘develop a European society based on European Union citizenship and which is respectful of fundamental rights, fighting anti-Semitism, racism and xenophobia and strengthening civil society’. It is made up of five streams, of which we focus on:

  • civil justice
  • criminal justice
  • rights and citizenship.

The EU funding guidance page explains its structure and the conditions for each of the three funding streams.

Current deadlines

  • Civil Justice Stream: The relevant calls for proposals are likely to be published during the first quarter of 2010.
  • Criminal Justice Stream: The calls for proposals for action grants are likely to be published during the first quarter of 2010. The calls for operating grants are likely to be published in September 2010.
