There is an Independent Monitoring Board attached to every prison and immigration removal centre in England and Wales. If you are not sure where your nearest IMB is you can find out by using the links below:

Independent Monitoring Boards now monitor short-term holding facilities at UK airports and holding rooms. At present, there is an IMB at Heathrow; North and Midlands (covering Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and Leeds) and Scotland (covering Glasgow and Edinburgh). During 2009, IMBs will be established in the London area (Luton, Stansted and London City) and then Gatwick (including Harwich and French ports). It is envisaged that new members will be required from 2010.
