Annual Conference for IMBS in Prisons

Annual Conference 2010
The Annual Conference 2010 will be held from lunchtime on Thursday 16th September to lunchtime on Saturday 18th September at the Hinkley Island Hotel, Hinckley, Leicestershire. Board Members will receive a letter during February 2010 giving further details of the allocation of conference places and the booking procedure. At the end of February, Chairs will receive a letter which will contain the booking forms. (The Chair letters and booking forms will also be sent by secure email). Each IMB will be allocated a maximum of 2 places per Board. Preference should be given to members who have not had the opportunity to attend a previous IMB conference. The deadline for reserving a delegate place at the conference will be 31st May.
Annual Conference 2009
The Annual Conference 2009 was held at Keele University, Staffordshire, from 17th - 19th September. Over 300 delegates attended the conference to listen to and share ideas around the theme of 'Perceptions'. This event was hosted by Richard Brown and Mike Davis from the IMB National Council.

The Baroness Stern, who a speech entitled "Politics and Prisons: The role of IMBs in a time of cuts".

Peter Fewell, ex-offender and successful author, gave a presentation called 'Respect'.

Paul Tidball, President of Prison Governors Association, delivered a presentation "The Quality Visit".

Tim Robertson, Chief Executive, Koestler Trust (new window) presented some of the excellent artwork created by prisoners.
