Policing in the 21st century - reconnecting police and the people

The policing in the 21st century consultation closed on 20 September. We have now published the summary of responses.

The consultation looked at how we can make police in England and Wales more available and responsive, more accountable, more effective, and deliver better value for money.

We received over 800 responses, including 444 online responses, which covered a wide range of issues.

On 1 December, we published the summary of responses. This document summarises the responses we received to the consultation, including elements to be included in the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill.

The consultation is broken into five chapters. You can either download and read the entire Policing in the 21st century: reconnecting police and the people consultation document or you can read the individual chapters.
