Fiona Mactaggart MP
Fiona McTaggart is Parliamentary Under Secretary
for Race Equality, Community Policy, and Civil Renewal.
She provides support to the Minister of State for Citizenship
and Immigration. She has overall responsibility for
race equality, community cohesion, civil renewal and
active citizenship. She is the Green Minister and a
Design Champion. She provides support to the Home Secretary
on departmental infrastructure and efficiency issues.
She has responsibility for women’s issues, better
regulation and reduced bureaucracy and is the Departmental
champion for correspondence.
Fiona Mactaggart became MP for Slough in May 1997.
Ms Mctaggart was an inner-London primary school teacher
from 1987 - 1992, and from 1992 -7 she was a lecturer
in primary education at the London Institute of Education.
She was General Secretary of the Joint Council for
the Welfare of Immigrants 1982 -86, press and public
relations officer for the National council for Voluntary
organisations in 1981. She was a Liberty executive member
from 1992 - 1996 and chair from1994 - 1996
Fiona Mactaggart has a BA in English from Kings College,
a postgraduate teaching certificate from Goldsmiths
College and an MA in Education. |
