PACE review: government proposals in response to the review of the police and criminal evidence act 1984

This consultation paper set out proposals on police powers and procedures. 

The aim of this review was to establish from police and those who work with them, as well as the public, whether the act and the codes of practice were still appropriate, proportionate, and relevant to the criminal justice system.

This consultation closed 28 November 2008.
