Crime Reduction

These pages include information on:

The Government's Crime Reduction Strategy

Our strategy details our approach to crime reduction in seven primary areas, and describes where we are now and where we are heading.

Burglary Reduction Floor Target

Our Floor Target Implementation Plan sets out what we are doing to reduce burglary, particularly in the most deprived areas.

Alcohol Related Crime

Our action plan describes a range of initiatives to help tackle and address alcohol-related crime, disorder and nuisance.

Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA)

RIPA provides for -- and regulates the use of -- a range of investigative powers, by a variety of public authorities. In particular, it takes account of technological change, such as the growth of the Internet, with powers that pertain to the interception of communications, the use of covert surveillance and the investigation of electronic data protected by encryption, while also providing for independent judicial oversight of its powers.

Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women

This section sets out our policy on domestic violence and describes our agenda on violence against women -- including our Violence Against Women Initiative (part of our crime reduction programme) -- and provides links to relevant publications.

Internet Task Force

The Task Force on Child Protection on the Internet is a unique partnership of Government, Industry, police and charitable organisations, working together to tackle the danger posed to children by online paedophiles.
