A message from the Home Secretary:

"On 28 July 1999, my predecessor Jack Straw announced the race equality employment targets for the Home Office and its public services, that is the Police, Prison and Probation services over a ten-year period. He indicated that he would report progress on an annual basis. I have and will continue to fulfil that remit." — David Blunkett
