Volunteering & Community Participation
The Home Office, via the Active
Communities Directorate, is constantly looking at ways
of developing ways of:
- increasing diversity in community participation
- co-ordinating citizenship training
- managing mentoring programmes
- policy on corporate community involvement
- raising awareness of community involvement through
the media
- taking forward other initiatives to encourage and
facilitate involvement by individuals in volunteering
and less formal ways of achieving community engagement
