The Resource and Planning Unit (RPU) is responsible for co-ordinating the Home Office's finances for years beyond the current financial year ("forward finances"). RPU works to ensure that Home Office policy and business make the best possible use of the available forward finances, and to secure the finance we need for the future.

Areas of responsibility:

  1. The Home Office's Corporate Plan.
  2. The Home Office Annual Report.
  3. PSA 10 and Home Office internal targets on Value for Money.
  4. Spending Review 2004 and follow up.
  5. Advice on affordability of new policy and business proposals which impact mainly later than the current financial year. (For issues relating mainly to the current financial year, please contact AFU).
  6. Advice on dealing with the Treasury regarding forward financial years.
