The office of the Chief Information Officer leads on the strategic development of information systems and information technology.

Areas of responsibility:

  • provide leadership and strategic advice to the Home Secretary, ministers, Home Office board and business areas on information, systems and technology issues
  • provide head-of-profession leadership for IT and knowledge, information and records management professions
  • participate in corporate processes; owning information, systems and technology aspects.
  • act as the Home Office link to wider government and industry IST groups.
