Cross Cutting Reviews
Many of the biggest challenges facing Government do not fit neatly within traditional departmental structures. Tackling problems like drugs, crime and social exclusion requires better coordination and teamwork across a wide range of departments and agencies.
As part of the 2002 Spending Review, the Government conducted seven Cross-Cutting Reviews. These addressed the following issues:
- Children at Risk
- Improving the Public Space
- Role of the Voluntary Sector in Delivering Services
- Public Sector Labour Market
- Science and Research
- Services for Small Businesses
- Tackling the causes of Health Inequalities
- Engagement with sector - including Childcare Review
