The Department of Health is now inviting Local Authorities, through Councils with Social Services Responsibilities, to make a joint application for funding with their PCT partners, and potentially others, from the Partnerships for Older People Projects Grant.

The Department is providing £60m ring-fenced funding, based on the Older People’s FSS formula to council-based partnerships over the years 2006/07 (Year 1) and 2007/08 (Year 2) to set up innovative pilot projects. The purpose of the pilot projects is to:
Older people, older peoples champions, District Councils, the wider NHS, the voluntary, community and independent sector should all be part of this initiative.
A Prospectus for Grant Applications is now available providing details about how to make an application and the timescales. Initial expressions of interest must reach the Department of Health by 12 May 2005.
Two half day briefing events are being held on 18th March in London to support the application process. Further information is available on the Department of Health website.
