Government Finance Profession Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Inaugural Awards Ceremony

The Government Finance Profession (GFP) is delighted to announce the winners of the ten awards for excellence in financial management presented at a ceremony in Brighton.

Commenting on the awards, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the GFP, Dame Mary Keegan, Head of the GFP said “this is a fitting tribute which recognises the outstanding contribution made by members of our community”.

The award winners were:

1. The award for Finance Team of the Year was collected by Andy Stubbings, Keith Morton and Joe Clyne.

2. The award for Innovation in Government was collected by Howard Orme, Deputy Finance Director General and Head of Finance Professionalism, Department for Work and Pensions.

3. The Government Finance Profession represents the 7,500 strong community of qualified and trainee accountants in central government. The awards were presented at the GFP conference on 15 November, in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
