REVISED AND LATE SPRING SUPPLEMENTARY
ESTIMATES: 1999-2000
Revised and Late Spring Supplementary Estimates totalling £7.5 million (the net change over the original Spring Supplementaries) were presented to the House of Commons today. They seek increased provision for existing services and Parliamentary authority, with the necessary provision, for a new service in connection with the ongoing operational costs of the suspended Northern Ireland Assembly.
The increase of £7.5 million is classified within Departmental Expenditure Limits. However the Supplementary Estimates do not involve any change in total spending plans because the increases sought have either been offset by savings elsewhere in departmental programmes or charged to the DEL Reserve.
