Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Melanie Johnson said:

"This is an important appointment. The successful candidates will play a major role in the development of the Financial Services Authority, as it implements the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.

"We are looking for applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, who will enable the FSA to foster the UK reputation as the foremost financial centre in the world. Appointments will be made in line with the guidance on Appointments to Public Bodies issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments."
