The International Monetary Fund
The Treasury coordinates UK policy advice on IMF issues and the UK's operational interests at the Fund, working closely with the Bank of England, the Department for International Development, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Financial Services Authority and other government departments and agencies. Each year, the Treasury reports to Parliament on the approach it takes to IMF issues.
The UK and the IMFC
The Chancellor is currently Chairman of the International Monetary and Financial Commitee (IMFC) - the main forum for discussing IMF policies at the Ministerial level. The IMFC meets twice a year; usually in April for the Spring Meetings and September for the Annual Meetings.
